- On the Front Lines of America's drug war, one family is living in the crossfire. THE CORNER is based on the nonfiction book "The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood," by Baltimore-based journalists David Simon and Ed Burns. It presents the world of Fayette Street in West Baltimore, using real names and real events.

One year following one family from their ghetto apartment to their interaction with a community plagued with narcotics trade and violence is at the heart of this HBO miniseries. Sean Nelson (FRESH) stars as a teenage boy who struggles to fight off street life pressures. His parents (played by Khandi Alexander and T.K. Carter) are of little help, as they work hard to bring a steady income and a sense of normalcy, but continually fail. This brutal street portrayal won numerous Emmys including Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Direction for Charles S. Dutton.
