Eucalyptus is an evergreen tree native to Australia. The leaves contain eucalyptol, a common flavoring ingredient in commercial mouthwash, cough drops and vaporizer fluids. Many cultures around the world use Eucalyptus herbs to soothe colds and coughs, relax and to repel insects. Eucalyptus leaves are potent anti-oxidants and have many health benefits. Fresh eucalyptus leaves cannot be consumed but dried eucalyptus leaves can be made into tea or can be steeped and steam inhaled to relieve cold symptoms.

Directions to Prepare Eucalyptus Leaf Herbal Tea
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1 tsp. of eucalyptus herb. Cover and steep the leaves for 5-10 minutes, strain and serve the herbal tea immediately.
Use Eucalyptus to Relax
Hang the leaves in the shower. You can use either fresh or dried leaf. Heat and steam from the shower releases the essential oils from the eucalyptus in the air. When you breathe these eucalyptus oil compounds in, it helps you relax and clear your nasal passages.
